Heavy rainfall in the city of Zapopan, located in the Mexican state of Jalisco, caused a canal to overflow in the La Martinica area. Within minutes, floodwaters rose to between 4 and 7 meters, submerging hundreds of homes and sweeping away vehicles. One person lost their life and many others were injured. Authorities launched evacuation and rescue operations, and a state of emergency was declared in the region.
