This clip is from Freddie King's live performance on "The!!!! Beat" in 1966. Freddie's vocals, showmanship, and of course, guitar playing are absolutely exceptional in this live performance of "Sittin' On The Boat Dock".
Out of the 3 Kings, Freddie certainly played the most chords, and it's fascinating to see his choice of chord voicings and rhythm in this performance. While he sticks exclusively to the humble pentatonic during lead parts, it's never boring, forced or overplayed.
If you've ever wondered how to play like Freddie King - this video may just be the thing you've been looking for :)
