#BiggDoggChico #ColoradoBuffaloes #CoachPrime #DeionSanders #BuffEmUpdates #AdamMunsterteigerBOULDER – After forgoing drills and focusing on interviews at the NFL Scouting Combine last month, Xavier Weaver showcased his skills on multiple fronts here at the Indoor Practice Facility Wednesday morning. Scouts from 12 NFL teams traveled to Boulder to see the 6-foot, 175-pound wide receiver in action.
Weaver started the day getting measured before taking part in physical drills in which he excelled in. He ran a solid 4.47 in the 40-yard dash which would have tied for the 21st fastest time out of the 30 receivers that participated at the NFL Scouting Combine.
"I know a lot of people came out here thinking I wasn't going to be able to run fast," Weaver said after his performance. "They probably thought my top-end speed wasn't fast enough. I definitely think I put some money in my pocket."
On top of his eye-opening 40 time, Weaver also tested very well in the vertical and broad jumps. He recorded a 37" vertical and a 10'7" broad jump which both would have been top-20 marks at the combine.
Before running routes, Weaver wrapped up testing with the 3-cone drill and shuttle. He finished with a 7.0 second 3-cone time and a 4.30 second shuttle as several of his teammates watched and supported him from the sidelines.
"I thought I was gonna be out here by myself and probably a couple of people but they showed up and showed a lot of support and love so it just means a lot to me," Weaver commented.
Weaver finished his collegiate career with 184 receptions for 2,643 yards and 14 touchdowns after playing four seasons at South Florida and one at Colorado.
The 2024 NFL Draft is scheduled to take place in Detroit, Mich. from Thursday, April 25 to Saturday, April 27.
