Welcome to another exercise in 6/8 time. A reminder that in any eighth note based time signature (an eight on the bottom of the time signature) the eighth notes are the primary beat and are counted with numbers (1 through 6) while the sixteenth notes now indicate the upbeats and are counted with '&'. This is a micro view of 6/8 since another important level of subdivision in eighth note based time signatures is the macro beat indicated by the dotted quarter note. In my opinion it's best to learn the more intricate micro syncopation first, and then in later exercises we will incorporate dotted quarter notes into the bottom rhythm line as the macro beat.
