There was a man named Roy Sullivan who worked as a park ranger in the United States. He became famous for something very strange—he was struck by lightning seven times and survived every time!

Roy lived and worked in Virginia, where storms were common. The first lightning strike hit him in 1942 while he was in a fire lookout tower. It burned his leg and left a scar. Over the next 35 years, he was hit six more times, often while doing everyday things like walking, driving, or even fishing.

Each strike left injuries—burns, loss of hair, or damaged body parts—but Roy never gave up. He kept working in the park and helping people. He even carried a bucket of water in his truck in case of another strike.

People called him “The Human Lightning Rod.” Scientists say the chances of getting hit by lightning once are very low. Getting struck seven times is almost impossible, yet it happened to Roy.

His story amazed the world and made it into the Guinness World Records. Roy’s life shows how strange and unpredictable nature can be—and how strong the human body can be too.
