America was once a global powerhouse when it came to steel production.

At it's peak in the 20th century, the USA was producing nearly 60% of the world's total production. Fast forward to today and that number has dropped to less than 10%.

Not surprisingly, China has absorbed a large portion of that production and now accounts for nearly 50% of global production.

In this video I highlight one of the most impressive steel factories ever built, Bethlehem Steel's factory in Pennsylvania.

During it's operations it produced steel for important construction projects all over the world, and of course was instrumental in making crucial parts during WW2.

The factory ceased operations in the 1990's and the company was bankrupt a few years later.

Today the site is home to a casino as well as an arts, music and entertainment hub.

I did a ton of research on this very short video, which included buying a couple books and reading several articles.
