First 45RPM release after he left ABC-Paramount and it was a great disappointment; didn't reach the charts, flopped because its overproduction. The youth had other heroes - The British Invasion.
After 15 years of hitmaking, Fats' days as a regular on the charts were definitively over :(

"I Left My Heart In San Francisco" was first recorded by Tony Bennett. On January 23, 1962 he laid down his vocals on what was to be his signature song. It was released on Columbia 42332.
