Because playing this song creates happiness in my brain and I had all my gear in there ready to go, I recorded this drum cover video. I find mixing to be quite a tedious task and I always rather let someone else do it, but I just wanted to hear what I can get out of these drums with my mics. I'm pretty happy with the results.

Drums are ~1982 Pearl MLX predecessors, 22"x16" kick, 12"x8" rack (cut by Pekka Helanen of Kumu drums), 15" and 16" floor toms. Powerstroke3's on kick, Empoeror coated's / Ambs on toms. Snare is Tama Artstar II (maple) 14"x6,5" with Remo Controlled Sound coated. Some Slapkatz gel for dampening on them skins.

I endorse Impression cymbals, and I use Balbex G5B hornbeam sticks. Cymbal setup from your left:

19" mixed crash
21" prototype ride
17" rock crash (Crescent label from their brief period together)
19" traditional crash
14" traditional hihat (also Crescent label)

Mics: Rode NT-5 overheads, SM57 & AKG D22 on snare, Audix D6 in kick drum, AKG D40 on biggest tom, D22's on the two others. Compression and some EQ used on overheads, snare and kick drum. I didn't do anything with the tom tracks because they sound nice and again I'm lazy when it comes to mixing.

Turn it up and enjoy!
