don’t usually pre-wash my fabric (and I happily discovered that I didn’t actually have to in this case either). Be sure to watch the video until the end and read this caption to find the delightful reason way: Since this is the first time I’m sewing and quilting with a new line of solids AND I’m using ALL THE BRIGHT COLORS, I wanted to make sure colors wouldn’t run the first time I washed the finished quilt. I pre-washed these beautiful Ruby + Bee Solids by @windhamfabrics this morning, with my detergent that does not contain optical brighteners and I threw in 2 Color Catchers. I’m excited to share that those Color Catchers came out totally clean—no dye runoff at all! So I feel I didn’t really need to do this extra work of pre-washing. I now know for next time (and have piece of mind that those colors will stay where I want them after I make the quilt!)
