Assistant Defence Minister Matt Thistlethwaite says visas for Palestinians are going through the “normal security checks” undertaken by ASIO.

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has argued Prime Minister Albanese misled parliament by quoting selectively from the ABC’s interview with ASIO Director-General Mike Burgess last week in terms of security checks on the Palestinians who came here.

“They’re going through the normal security checks that ASIO undertake, and they’re generally processed by the department,” Mr Thistlethwaite told Sky News Australia.
