In simple terms, mode collapse is the repetitive output of generative results. The outputs are technically correct but lack the desired diversity for practical usage.
Image generation is a clear example. As AI models have evolved, their results have only looked more similar and obvious to detect.
What can we do about this?
Just like people, AI can't reach its full potential without effective coaching and training. Maybe we can take a page from the book of human performance and rethink our systems as a whole.
