Transformers gave us Megatron in 1984 and he transformed into a Walter P-38. However, since that time, changes in regulations have made Hasbro unwilling to create such a form again. Enter the Newage Legendary Heroes S01 Romulus, a third-party Megatron who transforms into a gun. Captain Kyle reviews this Studio Series style figure to see if he’s worth getting for your collection.

Megatron is the leader of the Decepticons and nemesis of the Autobot leader Optimus Prime. While his original form became a gun, many of the later toys became tanks instead. Though there were a few exceptions, such as a core class version and the Classic versions that became something that more resembled Nerf weaponry. Hasbro’s Studio Series 86 includes many figures that look very accurate to their 1986 movie appearance, but Megatron is unlikely to be exactly like his movie counterpart. Therefore, Newage put out a Romulus figure that is very accurate to the original character including his alt mode, but is it perfect? Captain Kyle examines it to find out.
