This verse from Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 2, Verse 56) beautifully defines what it means to have steady wisdom (sthitaprajna). Lord Krishna says that a person who stays calm and balanced, even amidst sorrow and happiness, who is free from attachment, desire, fear, and anger — is truly wise.
