Tony McAleer is a former skinhead and Holocaust denier who went on to become a founding member of the anti-hate activist group Life After Hate. Profoundly aware and deeply ashamed of the lineage of hate he once promoted, Tony considered traveling to the Auschwitz/Birkenau death camp in Poland in the spirit of t’shuvah — to bear witness to the inconceivable ravages of the Holocaust, repent his wrongs, and deepen his personal work against the rise of extremist politics. In THE CURE FOR HATE, award-winning filmmaker Peter Hutchison documents McAleer’s profoundly personal journey of atonement during his visit at Auschwitz.
