Here are 3 levels of mozzarella sticks.

Level 1: Store-Bought Frozen Mozzarella Sticks
Basic size, basic instructions, and overall pretty basic taste. 

Not bad, but we can definitely do better. 

Level 2: Homemade Mozzarella Sticks
Create a batter station with flour, egg wash, and panko. Dip pre-packaged mozzarella sticks into the flour, followed by the egg wash, and finally the panko. 

Repeat steps 2 & 3 for ultimate crispiness. Freeze for an hour and then fry in 350º oil for 3-4 minutes. 

This is a cheese pull to be proud of, but we can still do better. 

Level 3: Ultimate Homemade Mozzarella Sticks
Start with the same batter station as Level 2, adding shredded parmesan and pecorino romano cheeses to the panko. 

Slice your whole milk mozzarella into slices, following the same breading process as Level 2. Then, freeze for at least 1 hour.

 Fry for 3-4 minutes in 350º oil and serve with your favorite dipping sauces.
