
From 1960 to 1980, Pakistan’s growth rate was 6%, while India’s was just 3.5%! But behind this growth was a story of economic imbalance. West Pakistan enjoyed all the benefits, while East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) was neglected. Unequal resource distribution and biased trade policies fueled dissatisfaction, eventually leading to the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War.
