The bright, propulsive track’s lyrics are contrastingly wistful though, despite their whimsical delivery. Written during the Modern Fiction era, “Grim Symmetry” finds singer Tom Mcgreevy in deep self-reflection, recognizing his flaws only after seeing them in others.
