Hardware EBM Jam using my Minibrute 2s for and industrial / EBM style bass line, my Korg Monologue for a distorted industrial synth riff and volca FM on creepy music box melody. Vocal samples are triggered manually from my Akai MPX8 and my Novation Nova for drums and sequencing my Volca FM.

😀 Finally, more than two years after my last live Darksynth jam! There have been some major changes and additions to my hardware synth setup since then. This cyberpunk style EBM jam session / camera test was recorded 27th May 2020 in preparation to submit something for my application to perform at a local festival, now happening in the virtual arena. Details sketchy as of writing but at least I don't have to do the audition now 😀

Kit List:

⚫️ Novation Circuit - Factory drum sounds. I'm ot using either of the internal synth engines for this jam. Sequencer 2 is triggering my Volca FM.

⚫️ Volca FM - Slightly tweaked version of the original DX7 music box patch the unit ships with.

⚫️ Korg Monologue - Using its internal sequencer. I've set up 3 patches for this jam, and modulate these as the jam progresses. No parameter locking used for reasons I may discuss in a future video.

⚫️ Arturia Minibrute 2s - Industrial EBM Bass. Patch photo can be found on my instagram: @nanomancer.music - Sequence is an adaptation of the factory sequence found on (I think) bank b #15, transposed down 2 octaves and rescaled to user scale where I've set up a whole/half tone diminished starting on E flat.

⚫️ Akai MPX8 - Very basic wav playback. I don't have it set up to receive MIDI, manual trigger only. All old movie samples (free sample taster from loopmasters I think) except for a noise sweep on one of the pads. This was created in Bitwig and is a 2 bar (at 122 bpm) rise created by resonating noise with a tuned resonator chord (E flat diminished). There are some problems with the way I'm using the trigger in hold mode, details in a forthcoming video.

⚫️ TC Electronic Flashback Triple delay

⚫️ Zoom ms50 CDR - quite a bit going on in the patch. Planning on moving to modular and setting up a similar path in that environment.

⚫️ Behringer mixer. Reverb on aux 3 is the built in. I've got the zoom cdr on aux 1 (pre fade) and flashback triple on aux 2.

⚫️ Recorded into Bitwig as stereo as I only have a 2 input soundcard at present, no compression or post processing.
