Canadian pride surging amid rising tension with the US, poll finds

Canadian attitudes toward the United States have soured further during U.S. President Donald Trump’s trade war, as a growing majority of Canadians are avoiding U.S. goods and travel compared with four months ago.

In a new Ipsos poll conducted exclusively for Global News, released Tuesday in time for Canda Day, around three-quarters of Canadians surveyed said they intend to avoid travel to the U.S. – up 10 points since February.

The number of people avoiding U.S.-made goods has risen five points to 72 per cent.
