A magnitude 4.1 earthquake shook Victoria yesterday morning at around 3:48 a.m. It occurred northeast of Woods Point, an area known for its entanglement of ancient fault lines. These fault lines slipped, resulting in the seismic activity that produced the quake.
In this video I take you on a deep dive into the fault lines, and we will explore when they were created, how they formed, and by which processes. I also briefly explain the role New Zealand plays in producing these Earthquakes in Victoria.
