They Die is a darkwave trio born in 2020, based in Italy, with a minimal sound between post-punk, goth and batcave that proposes the sounds of the dawn of the genre of the early eighties revisited in a contemporary key.
The project draws inspiration from the atmospheres of the alternative discos of those years, reworked in the decadence of our days. Like a mantra, the love-death dualism is interpreted as the pinnacle of an existence lived in abandonment.
The first album "deviant love" was released in January 2021 for Jetglow Recordings with good success thanks to the two leading singles "that flames goes out" and "sick boy" highly appreciated by critics.
After a year and a half, the second album "emptiness prevails" was released, this time for the renowned Swiss Dark Nights, 10 tracks including two singles released as video clips: "single frame" and "Black moon”.
In January 2024 the third album “black magic” is released again for Swiss Dark Nights. 9 tracks from which two singles are extracted with related videos: “our blood (clubbing mix) and “call my name”.
In September 2024, for Swiss Dark Nights, the fourth album “darkroom session” is released, a live in studio recorded in June 2024 that aims to be a snapshot of the band live with 15 songs chosen from the first three albums.
