On Sunday afternoon, massive waves pounded El Salvador’s western coastline for hours, causing serious damage and injuring at least fifty people in key areas such as El Majahual beach in La Libertad, as well as El Obispo, Conchalío, Tunco, and Acajutla. Civil Protection teams and rescue workers moved swiftly to pull people from the powerful currents and bring them to safety, while many businesses were left underwater and completely unusable.
