The product of over two years of work, Ego Town is Kris’s debut solo album in a way… and he’s even chosen to release it on vinyl!
Featuring nine tracks – where Kris takes lead guitars, vocals, and bass duties – the album also features a number of incredible guest musicians (including Kris’s Thomann partner in crime, Guillaume Chenin, bass monsters Nate Navarro and Julia Hofer, drummer Jan Hees, and more!) as it veers between rock, pop, blues rock, and even some funky Red Hot Chili Peppers-esque moments!
I knew this was a massive passion project for Kris, but I really wanted to know about the process of making an album from scratch in 2025: where the song ideas came from, how it was recorded, what guitars and gear he used, the biggest challenges during production, how to release a record in 2025, and so on.
Here, Kris discusses all of that, and more! We also chat a bit about Kris’s life in general, and the other bits of guitar gear that are making him tick at the moment.
Enjoy the interview, and please give Ego Town a listen if you get the chance! It’s an awesome album, and you can listen for free at all the usual streaming sites.
