A film made in 2007 produced and directed by Toby Lucas. This film explains the story of Alfred the Gorilla, how he was brought to Bristol Zoo on the 5th September in 1930, by my great great grandfather, Alfred Mosely. The film explores the impact Alfred had not only in Bristol, but also on the rest of the world. The film studies the current state of gorilla captivity, and the threat that global warming may have on the future of the ape. We also look at Alfred’s legacy, and learn how Bristol Zoo can protect apes, and help them to live longer.
