ℹ️ About the Album -

In vīnculum’s Laber Nicht Records debut album, weil halt, he comes ready to show the techno and house world that the roots of the genres aren’t so different as we like to think. The American living in the German underground of southwest germany play homage to both German Techno and Midwest-American House.

Not every day you hear of a solo electronic artist come out with a 12 track album filled with original mixes made for the smokey underground dance floors- These original mixes demonstrate vīnculum’s multifariousness and maturity. Even though it is a debut album, this is vīnculum’s heads up to the techno and house community that there is a new kid on the block.

The album opens up with a two-track introduction with the “Come up” and “Come down,” which sets the dreamy spirit of the entire album. An energy that involves dream-like pads and stabs over fat basslines and thumping kick drums layered with echoing vocals that are met with swinging high hats found on tracks like “Wir sind die Kinder der Nacht” and “You don’ know.” Meanwhile, throughout the album, with tracks such as “You didn’t think about leaving?” and “Repetition,” he recognizes the electronic roots of the midwest USA.

weil halt is sure not to be the only project released by the DJ-Producer. Odds are vīnculum is either spinning records or working on music at the time of reading this.

vīnculum is a DJ/producer originally from Fargo, ND. Since moving to Germany in 2018, his sound has developed into a more precise articulation of his ideas, personal taste, and artistic expression. vīnculum is (and will always be) a DJ first.
