I was at most of these gigs at the Thames Poly Student Union in the basement bar in Woolwich in 1984 and 1985. Cheap entry, cheap beer and a variety of bands to entertain you. Some now deservedly famous, some still deservedly anonymous. I swear I was the only one dancing to Sonic Youth with about 50 people in attendance. I also played the Pole Position video game next to the stage so if you hear any tyre screeching picked up on the mics it's me, sorry about that!
This is an amazing audio document of a short period of time in a dingy South London venue. Enjoy the rawness!
