Why You Shouldn't Wait To Pursue Your Dream

We visited Paradise Falls from the movie Up! (Angel Falls, Venezuela in real life) This might be a cheesy post, but how often do you get the chance to make a video about visiting Paradise Falls? 😀So we are resharing this from when we visited Venezuela last year.

This scene in Pixar's Up made us both tear up the first time we saw it. (If you haven't seen Up it's a fun movie!) The scene shows the couple having a dream of visiting Paradise Falls, but then life happens and before they know it they are too old to make it there. 

When people hear that we are traveling to every country, some people have told us that this isn't how you are "supposed to do it." That you are supposed to work really hard, retire, and then live out your dreams. For me (Hud) personally, my dad died suddenly at age 55. He had an amazing life, but like the movie, he never made it to his retirement years. 

It was a reminder to Em and I that we aren't guaranteed tomorrow and to make the most of today. That's why we started taking little weekend trips in our van. Which turned into RVing to the 50 states. Which eventually led to us visiting our 197th country now. We don't know how long we have together and want to make the most of the time we have. 

We got to visit Paradise Falls together (which is based off of Angel Falls in Venezuela). And for those of you who have seen the movie, a bunch of helium balloons might actually be the easiest way to get there. We went during dry season, which means it took an 8 hour canoe ride to get there. Also during dry season it is more like Angel "Mist" instead of Angel "Falls."

Thanks to everyone who has been following our journey! And as cheesy as this video might be, maybe it can be a reminder to someone to not wait to pursue their dreams.
