Killer blues double sider released in July 1949. This was his third record for Modern, but his 7th record all in all. He also had records released for King, Regent, Savoy and Acom at the time. Hooker whistles and moans his way through this fantastic semi-instrumental blues, while the flip is a great boogie called Weeping willow boogie. Like all of his early Modern recordings it was recorded and produced in Detroit by Bernie Besman.
