The renowned music historian and cultural critic Stanley Booth has died. His evocative language and daring reporting shed light on the lives of legendary performers. After years of deteriorating health, Booth passed away late Thursday night at the age of 82 at the ACH Harbor View nursing facility in Memphis. Ruby Booth, his daughter, confirmed his passing and said he had just gone into hospice care.
