Once upon a time, a curious American found herself the Lady Boss (Chatelaine) of a neglected French château.
From her very first visit to La Chevronnais, she could smell mildew everywhere. This week, she finally peels back the pink silk fabric lining one of the turrets… and discovers it. Yep, black mold.
Coincidentally, the entire house had recently turned mysteriously damp: floors, windows, even the walls. So the Lady brought in a heritage property consultant to help assess what might be going on beneath the surface.
Then, as if on cue, the upstairs toilet started leaking through the most ornate ceiling in the château. Double yep.
While she’s up in the turret tearing down fabric, her friends are scrubbing floors like Cinderella. So… is she the Wicked Stepmother, or more likely a Damsel in Distress?
Just kidding. She’s no damsel. No Prince, No Problem.
