Iceland is experiencing its seventh volcanic eruption in less than a year, with lava flowing near a small southwestern fishing village. The volcano on the Reykjanes peninsula woke from an 800-year dormancy in 2021. This latest eruption has not disrupted any flights at the local airport and residents have been evacuated. The lava is moving away from the town.
