Dropped D Country Blues Fingerpicking Lesson


In this lesson, we'll round out the progression of a nice fingerpicking blues in dropped D. Before we built out a nice crisp melody over the D chord and then continued the melody into the G chord. Today, we'll work our way into the A7 chord in a really smart way (if I do say so myself).

This one is all about the melody. It's the melody that carries this entire piece. So be sure to take your time and pay careful attention to the melody at each chord change.

In many of our Tuesday Blues examples, we focus on letting the bassline move us through the chords, but here it's the melody so take some time and focus your efforts on getting this down.
