Like many countries, Canada has a rich and diverse musical heritage. Canadian artists have explored many genres from Folk and Country to Jazz and Hip-Hop. However if you spend any time in the country listening to local radio stations you will quickly discover that Rock music specifically is a dominate force in the Canadian musical landscape.

This show features a wide cross-section of "Rock" songs. Canadian musicians don't adhere to the same strict categories as their neighbors to the South so many artists will explore multiple genres within a single album. This diversity can be heard throughout the tracks included here. Some of these songs border on other musical styles such as Folk, Alternative and Pop.

There are many other legendary Canadian artists and songs we were unable to squeeze into this first installment so please stay tuned for future episodes.

Canada is also home to a very large French speaking community. There are many artists who produce their music exclusively in French and represent their robust culture through their lyrics and musicianship. We felt it would be respectful to these musicians to showcase their songs in a future show specifically focusing on them.
