Watch in HD!!!!! This is quick video of me playing to a song called 'Put You On' by Anderson Paak. I was introduced to his music earlier this year by one of my good friends and ex band members Olly Steele, and I've been hooked on his songs ever since.
Im trying to branch out a bit in what I post to Youtube. I still plan on uploading covers of metal songs, but I've been trying to diversify.
I recently started using two rack toms, and I absolutely love the feeling! I do plan on adding the left floor tom eventually back into this setup, but I wanted to roll with this setup first to get comfortable. I needed some change in my setup, and I took my current situation of not being in any bands right now to take the time and switch things up.
I'd also like to mention that Im using a lot of Meinl's new Pure Alloy line in this setup. I was absolutely surprised with how amazing these cymbals sound. The 15" hats and the 18" crash Im using in this video have become two of my new favorite cymbals by Meinl. I've listed below the entire cymbal setup Im using.
In case anyone is interested at all, the sticking for the long fill at 1:31 is R L R L - L K R L - R L L K - R L R L - L K K L - R L R L - L K K L - R L R R - L R L L - R L L R - K K R L - R L R L - R L R R - L R L L - R L L R - K K R L. Its a combination of 4 different types of linear patterns, which I've listed below.
