Rohan Jacovelli | Progressive Techno | Tilt Shift Tuesday 20st May 2025

Rohan Jacovelli is the founding director of Tech-Ninth. Over a decade of experience under his former alias ‘headstone’ he notched up appearances at festivals such as Earthcore and SXSW, paired with numerous local club residencies and features. His unique approach to alternative club music rendered his productions dancefloor weapons, deployed by artists such as Diplo and Alison Wonderland at some of the biggest stages around the globe, including EDC Las Vegas and Tomorrowland.

Since retiring the project, Rohan’s taste has evolved into a darker, more intelligent sound influenced by artists at the forefront of impeccably produced techno. Founding Tech-Ninth at 29th Apartment in 2022, he sought to create an environment where community and high-quality music are at the heart of the experience. He is dedicated to supporting his local music scene and championing emerging talent as well as collaborating with like-minded individuals and creatives.

As we move further into the digital age, we believe that the future of clubbing is a 50/50 balance of real life and online. With this in mind, we have begun moving Tilt Shift in this direction.

We aim to create a platform that shines a light on Melbourne Locals and international talent. Build an online community while simultaneously putting people in the room as we broadcast.

Tilt Shift sits firmly left of center, a difficult-to-label square peg that unintentionally fails to fit a pigeonhole. Borrowing from the photography term, Tilt Shift refers to two different types of movement, a selective focus with a large depth of field used to control perception. As we have come to think of it, it’s where the lines blur

Since our debut as Tilt Shift in 2017 we have facilitated events at a variety of the city's most reputable late-night haunts like Revolver, Boney, Section 8 & New Guernica. In this time we have hosted & toured artists such as: Marvin & Guy, Curses, The Hacker, Tronic Youth & Timothy Clerkin
