I'll admit this is a bit tricky to get right and there's some learning curve involved. It will take some time and patience.

BEGINNING STEPS
First I recommend getting familiar with NeRFs in general. The Dolly Zoom can be a finicky effect, so I'd recommend starting out with some simpler camera moves first. Fake drone shots are a really fun one to do and good for beginners. Also Luma AI has a YouTube channel with tutorials, check that out if you get stuck

UPLOAD FOOTAGE vs. GUIDED CAPTURE
Luma AI has a few modes - you can either use their guided capture mode, which will teach you how to scan the object, or you can upload your own footage. I prefer uploading my own footage because I find their guided capture mode hard to use

SHOOTING TIPS
Orbit (circle) around the thing you want to capture. If you want a dolly zoom, then capture in front of and behind the subject. Make sure you also capture the sky and the ground if you want that in the shot

ANDROID USERS
If you're on android don't worry - they have a web version and I actually prefer using the web version for the Dolly Zoom effect because it has better control

WEB VERSION (lumalabs.ai)
Whether you're on Android or iPhone, if you want to do a Dolly Zoom I actually prefer the web version. It gives you more precise controls on distance, angle, and focal length. My web version tutorial is up on karenx.com/dollyzoomtutorial

DOLLY ZOOM TROUBLESHOOTING
One thing you might run into as you do a dolly zoom is you'll notice the distance changes at a different rate than the focal length, creating a un-smooth effect where the body doesn't maintain the same size. The only way I've found around this is to set more keyframe points and go bit by bit, only changing the distance a little each time. This is where I really recommend using the web version instead of mobile to get that fine control
