Fast-emerging British singer-songwriter and guitarist Rosie Frater-Taylor is widely regarded as a virtuoso guitarist and a vocalist with a powerful emotional range and depth. Following in the footsteps of artists such as Norah Jones, Joni Mitchell and Herbie Hancock, Rosie Frater-Taylor has established herself as a unique talent.

Recording at Le Claque studio for this new Analogue session, the young singer and guitarist sets the tone from the very first track, the aptly named “Heartbeat.” Accompanied by a strong rhythm section, she showcases her talent for storytelling, as evidenced by the sophisticated cover of TLC's “No Scrubs.” The vintage decor of the singular Parisian studio stands in contrast to the track “Give & Take,” an up-tempo number driven by an impressively mature voice.

Three tracks from her new album, Featherweight, deftly blur the boundaries between rock, alt-pop, neo-soul, new-school jazz, and folk. Drawing influence from Joni Mitchell, PJ Harvey, and Kate Bush to rockier artists like John Mayer, Meshell Ndegeocello, St. Vincent, and Madison Cunningham, Featherweight asserts emotional musical maturity and a vast selection of sound-worlds, all tied together by Rosie’s trademark songwriting, guitar, and vocal style.
