Couple Reacts to Architects - Seeing Red

Hey y'all! We are back with yet another reaction! This time we are hitting up the band ARCHITECTS, with their song Seeing Red. We both loved the song, but as per usual, Rob doesn't really 'feel' the pitch corrected parts... But also on par with everything, Steph absolutely adores this one!

Architects are a British metalcore band formed in Brighton, England, in 2004. The band's original lineup consisted of guitarist and founding member Tom Searle, his brother and drummer Dan Searle, guitarist Sam Carter, bassist Alex "Ali" Dagnall, and guitarist Tim Hill. Architects' music is characterized by heavy, technical guitar riffs, intricate rhythms, and an intense, emotional style that blends metalcore with elements of post-hardcore and progressive metal. They are known for addressing personal and social issues in their lyrics, often exploring themes like grief, mental health, and existential struggles.

The band gained widespread recognition in the late 2000s and early 2010s with albums such as Hollow Crown (2009) and The Here and Now (2011). Architects' style evolved over time, incorporating more melodic elements into their heavy sound, especially in their later albums. Tragically, founding guitarist Tom Searle passed away in 2016 after a battle with cancer. Despite this, the band continued, with his brother Dan Searle taking over as the main driving force behind the band's music. Their sound has since evolved, with albums like All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us (2016) and For Those That Wish to Exist (2021) blending complex metalcore elements with a more atmospheric and anthemic approach.

"Seeing Red" is a track from Architects' For Those That Wish to Exist (2021), their ninth studio album. The song features a combination of heavy guitar riffs, rhythmic complexity, and the band's signature blend of melodic and harsh vocals. Lyrically, "Seeing Red" focuses on feelings of frustration, rage, and disillusionment, with the lyrics reflecting the band's response to a world marked by political turmoil, environmental crises, and personal emotional battles. The song's aggressive and cathartic energy makes it a standout track on the album, showcasing the band's ability to channel intense emotion into their music.

"Seeing Red" deals with themes of anger and helplessness in the face of societal and personal struggles. As with many tracks from For Those That Wish to Exist, it reflects the band's desire to address not only personal issues but also broader societal challenges, making their music resonate with fans on multiple levels. The track also highlights the band's continued evolution as they blend heavier elements with melodic and atmospheric ones to create a more expansive sound.
