Amazingly, in 1967 crooner Engelbert Humperdinck broke the Beatles' run of 11 consecutive UK #1 hits.
His single Release Me spent six weeks at #1, holding back the Beatles double A-side Strawberry Fields Forever and Penny Lane at #2.
Producer George Martin has stated that a double A-side was a dreadful mistake. Claiming, we’d have sold more records and higher in the charts
if we’d issued one of those songs, with When I’m Sixty-Four.
