President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has removed Mele Kyari as the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), naming Bashir Ojulari as his successor effective April 2, 2025. This sweeping change is part of the administration’s broader oil sector reforms to improve operational efficiency, boost investor confidence, and accelerate economic growth.The President has also mandated the newly reconstituted board to conduct a strategic portfolio review of NNPCL-operated and joint venture assets, to ensure value maximization across the sector.
