Donald Trump criticised Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan in a speech to American conservatives at CPAC 2022.The former President of the United States said the visit of the US House of Representatives Speaker played into China's hands.
"What was she doing in Taiwan? She played right into their hands, because now they have an excuse to do whatever ever they are doing", Trump told attendees.
Trump remains the leading figure in the Republican Party. But while he flirts with a 2024 presidential run, his standing has weakened slightly, with some 40% of Republicans saying he is at least partly to blame for the Jan. 6 riot compared with 33% in a poll conducted as the hearings got under way six weeks ago, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.
