On our way home from Flowerpot Island, Tobermory and Sauble Beach we stopped at Inglis Falls Conservation Area in Owen Sound, to do a hike and explore the area and to have a picnic lunch by the Sydenham River, then we drove to Blue Mountain Village and finally to Wasaga Beach, near Collingwood, Ontario.
(Background info: The Inglis Falls property is named after Peter Inglis, a Scottish immigrant, who moved there in 1843 and who replaced a small existing flour mill with a bigger, 4 storey one in 1862. The mill was powered by the waterfall. In 1945 the mill completely burnt down and in 1960 the town of Owen Sound purchased the property and turned it into a conservation area for the general public to enjoy.)
