
But to begin... In 1951 he won a talent contest and scored a recording contract with RCA but, sadly his early recordings failed to find the mark.
Success came in 1955 when he signed to Speciality and released Tutti Frutti.
He became one of the biggest rock'n'roll stars of the 1950s. Until, on tour in Australia in 1957 he found religion and renounced rock'n'roll. He only recorded gospel music until His return to rock'n'roll in 1962.
By then it was a very different music landscape and Little Richard never returned to the fame he left behind.
