'In the 45 Kings info it says: 'We are not solely a group of 45 Purists who only discuss OGs and rare 45s.“ That’s true and this is what I love about our collective. We share a deep passion for the 45 format in general, no matter if we talk about a once in a lifetime find or an everyday cheapo. In the very first place it is and should always be about the music on these little donuts!
That brings me to my mix: Most of these 45s can easily be found just around the corner at flea markets, thrift shops & records stores for $1-5 (the only rare and expensive title, Bubbha Thomas, is played from a reissue here). They found their way into my collection simply because I love the music! Nearly all records are from the mid to late 70s, the era when the disco star was unstoppably rising from the ground of funkiness.
