Immerse yourself in the mystical world of Buryat legends with our new composition "Tears of Angara." This musical journey tells the ancient tale of Baikal's daughter and her forbidden love for the mighty Yenisei river.

The music video tells a famous legend about the origin of Lake Baikal. It is a story about the mighty Baikal and its rebellious daughter Angara.

The legend says:

Once upon a time there lived a mighty and stern old man Baikal. He had 336 river sons who obediently carried their waters into his bowl. And he had only one daughter, the beautiful Angara, whom his father loved more than anything else in the world and cherished as the apple of his eye.

One day Angara heard about the beautiful and young hero Yenisei, who lived far beyond the mountains. She loved him with all her heart, though she had never seen him. Angara decided to run away to her beloved, but Baikal was angry when he learned of her intention. He decided not to let his beloved daughter go.

But the rebellious Angara waited for night and fled from her father's house. When he woke up and discovered his daughter's disappearance, furious Baikal rushed in pursuit. In anger he threw a huge rock to block the way of the fugitive - this rock is now called Shaman Stone.

But even the rock could not stop Angara - she only divided her waters and continued her way to her lover. To this day Angara flows to Yenisei, and old Baikal weeps and longs for his daughter, and his tears give birth to fogs over the sacred lake.

🎶 “This song was a journey through sounds and images. When I worked on it, I used ethnic instruments like the wargan and tambourine to create a unique rhythm that would convey the spirit of Baikal. Giant icy expanses and ancient myths sound in every chord. In the clip we tried to embody the atmosphere of this land - the magic that lives in every stone, in every drop of water.”
