Presonus Eris E4.5, all though quite compact speaker on its own terms, feels BIG next to Audioengine A2+, but in reality there is not much difference in "size" of sound. Of course Presonus has more meaty and groovy bass, but Audioengine holds up well for such a small speaker. Presonus also seem to have better balance with more fleshed out lower mids and not as bright upper mids. Audioengine A2+ has more clear and detailed sound overall but also is a bit on the bright side of neutral.
For me Presonus is a slightly better value for money proposition overall, but for someone looking for stylish and uber compact speaker with great sound Audioengine is still great choice. What do you think? Which one sounds better in Your opinion? Let me know in the comments below! Cheers!
