Is ISIS returning? Just when many believed ISIS had been consigned to history, fresh reports suggest the group is regrouping in Syria and Iraq, raising fears of a violent resurgence. Once notorious for its reign of terror across the Middle East and beyond, the so-called Islamic State—also known as ISIS or Daesh—is believed to be rearming, recruiting, and reactivating sleeper cells.
