1. The Summer Davos Forum has just concluded in Tianjin. World Economic Forum President Børge Brende recently said that we must return to the win-win mindset of "what’s good for your economy is also good for ours," rather than clinging to the outdated notion of zero-sum competition where only one side can win. Against the backdrop of an increasingly unstable and uncertain global economic and trade environment, what role can China play in advancing global economic development?
The 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions was successfully held in Tianjin. Premier Li Qiang attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. He also met with guests from various countries and held discussions with business leaders, demonstrating strong confidence in the continued steady growth of China’s economy and clearly signaling China’s commitment to contributing its dynamism to the global economy through deeper integration into global markets. China remains committed to inclusive and equitable economic globalization. It advocates resolving differences and disputes through equal consultation, safeguarding common interests through mutually beneficial cooperation, and achieving shared success by expanding new areas of growth. China will continue to build itself into a major power in development, consumption, and innovation, contributing its development capacity to meet the needs of the global economy. We welcome enterprises from all countries to invest in China, take root in China, and grow together with China. We look forward to working with all parties to undertake meaningful, pioneering, and mutually beneficial initiatives and create a brighter future together.
2. Today is United Nations Charter Day. As a founding member of the UN, how does China view the historical significance and contemporary relevance of the signing of the UN Charter?
As we mark the 80th anniversary of the signing of the United Nations Charter, we should not only revisit its spirit but also carry it forward and breathe new life into it. As the first country to sign the UN Charter, China has always strictly adhered to the norms of international relations, faithfully fulfilled its international obligations, and made positive contributions to the cause of peace and development for humanity. China stands ready to work with all parties to revisit the original aspiration of the founding of the United Nations, uphold the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, practice genuine multilateralism, jointly promote a stronger role for the UN, improve global governance, uphold international fairness and justice, and create a better future for all.
3. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said on Wednesday that given the situation such as the Russia-Ukraine conflict and China’s large-scale military buildup, it is truly important for the EU and NATO to increase their spending. To what extent does China agree with Rutte’s assessment of the current situation?
4. Earlier this week, Ukrainian media reported that around 600 Chinese military personnel will be hosted at Russian bases in 2025 to study Russia’s combat experiences in Ukraine. Can you confirm if such an arrangement between China and Russia exists?
I have information about that.
