Following two gigs in the UK, the Beatles and Little Richard had a 14-night residency at the Star Club in Hamburg. This was the Beatles' fourth Hamburg trip.
They met Billy Preston who was playing keyboards in Little Richard’s touring band. Billy Preston played on the Beatles' Get Back project. It was also here that the Beatles picked up the medley Kansas City / Hey-Hey-Hey-Hey.
In December 1964 the Beatles released their fourth UK album, Beatles for Sale, which included the medley, Kansas City / Hey-Hey-Hey-Hey.
