A pioneer in providing treatment to the burn patients in Bangladesh, plastic surgeon Samanta Lal Sen emphasised the importance of raising awareness in order to alleviate the suffering of burn patients and reduce the number of injuries. He further said that awareness regarding carrying hot water in a bucket should be created, as many accidents occur when hot water is taken to bathrooms from kitchens without using buckets.
He also suggested people follow the ‘stop, drop, and roll’ fire safety technique when clothing catches fire and not apply any kind of balm or paste on injured areas to avoid further complications.
